Can you take us on a journey through time and tell us about how Print Studios was founded and what motivated you to enter the market?
Absolutely! Print Studios was founded with a strong passion for creating high-quality and innovative gaming experiences for gamers worldwide. My journey actually began in London where I first met my co-founders, Carl and Tomas when we worked at Kindred Group. After a few years in Malta for my part, we found the perfect timing and we set up Print in 2020. What motivated us the most was the realization that there was a need for innovative thinking and unique gaming experiences.
Which manufacturer do you see as your main challenger in the industry and what are you doing to stand out?
In a competitive industry like ours, it's hard to single out a single contender, but I see several established players competing for players' attention such as Relax, Slotmill and Elk. What makes us unique is our ability to combine game mechanics with deep narrative and cool graphics. Our ambition is to deliver games that not only entertain but also surprise all the time.
What was the weirdest or funniest idea for a slot that you ever had on the drawing board, but never realized?
Oh! We have many ideas on slots and one more crazy than the other. It is difficult to point to just one specific slot, but there may be various factors behind why we do not choose to take it further. Otherwise, I would say we realize most of what we want.
How much does player feedback play into when you develop new games? Do you have any examples of changes made based on player input?
Feedback is very important. We try to listen as much as we can and sometimes it can be difficult, it all depends on how far we have come in the process. The math model is set quite early and then it's difficult to change exactly that, but we set up a Discord channel not too long ago and there were some players who pointed out visual bugs that we were able to fix immediately. We welcome feedback, good or bad, in order to develop and improve the games as much as possible.
Why should new players try slots from Print Studios and which slot is a must?
New players should try our slots to experience the unique combination of creativity, excitement and gaming fun that we are known for. A personal favourite of mine is the Royal Potato. It was the third game we released and you could say it was the game that really put us on the map. A unique theme with cool mechanics in combination with our SuperSpinners.
How have your games evolved from the first launch to today, and what important lessons have you gathered during this journey?
Of course, a lot of lessons were learned in the last four years, but mostly internally I would say. We are a wonderful group who have now gotten to know each other properly and that makes it easier to work together as well. An important lesson we've taken away is the importance of not being afraid to experiment - it's about introducing new concepts without compromising the experience and having fun while doing it.
How do you see yourselves in the Swedish market, how important is it to you? Do you have any strategy to grow in popularity at Swedish casinos?
All markets are important to us and, as a Swede yourself, you naturally have a slight fondness for Sweden. Swedish players often have high expectations when it comes to quality and innovation, which drives us to constantly improve and innovate our games and deepen collaborations with the players active in the market.
Before we leave this interview, can you give us some revelations regarding your upcoming games and plans for 2025?
We have exciting plans for 2025! While I can't reveal all the details yet, I can say that we are working on several new slots with themes that we have never explored before. Keep your eyes open - 2025 will be a year full of surprises!
